Kamu mungkin sering melihat rasi bintang Orion, tapi bisa jadi tidak semegah ini. Untuk bisa melihat Orion semenakjubkan ini, kamu membutuhkan kamera yang mampu mengambil eksposur dengan durasi panjang sehingga benda-benda langit yang samar di langit malam menjadi terlihat, terutama nebula yang berwarna kemerahan pada foto ini. Nebula pada foto ini tidak cuma ada satu, melainkan ada tiga yang terbesar di Orion, yaitu Nebula Besar Orion, Nebula Api, dan Simpul Barnard. Foto pemandangan langit yang indah ini dipotret di lereng gunung berapi Teide di Kepulauan Kanaria, Spanyol. Memasuki Mei ini, musim pengamatan Orion resmi berakhir, ia terbenam lebih cepat sesaat setelah Matahari terbenam. Hingga September mendatang, gantian arah pusat galaksi Bimasakti, yakni rasi bintang Skorpius, yang merajai langit sepanjang malam.

English: Orion is rarely seen like this. To achieve this majestic vista, you need a camera capable of taking such long duration exposures that faint features in the night sky become revealed. Iconic nebulas that appear include the Orion Nebula, the Flame Nebula, and Barnard's Loop. For contrast, it also helps to have a volcano on the foreground, in this case the Teide volcano on Tenerife on the Canary Islands of Spain. But if you want your Teide volcano snow-covered, you also need good timing -- because that only happens, typically, for a few days each year. Good timing also includes waiting for Orion to appear just behind Teide, which occurred late last year after sunset.
